Sound Design

I love to immerse myself in the world of both hardware and software audio synthesis. There's just something magical about how the most rigid computational systems can still be so expressive and evocative. I use synthesisers in my music, and hope to incorporate them in my future sound design.

I love using synths, but I also love building them. One of my current major projects is to convert a series of ordinary household objects into fully-featured digital synthesisers.

Music Projects

I compose works that blend genres in an attempt to push the boundaries of what musical theatre and opera can be. I do my best to write music that highlights the strengths of the mediums, while improving their shortcomings. Opera is especially meaningful to me, as it has fallen out of the public eye in recent decades. It is a medium so inextricably tied to its classical music roots, which I believe has limited it as classical music falls further and further out of general popularity.

I also write music as a solo artist, taking inspirations from artists such as JPEGMafia, clipping., and Jon Bellion. This is a much more personal endeavour, where i hope to capture my own thoughts and experiences and translate them into something that others can experience. I currently have a few singles almost ready to release

I have not published any music as of yet, but hope to soon as i have a few projects that are nearly ready for release.

Tech Work

As a student I have mostly worked with community theatres and smaller independent theatre companies. However, at the end of 2023 I was given the opportunity to work as a props technician on The Ring Cycle, brought to Brisbane by Opera Australia. I also did audiovisual installation and service work professionally during my time at AMPD Electronics.

My specialty as a technician is in sound. I have experience both installing and operating sound systems, having worked in a diverse range of venues including PIP Theatre, Australian Outback Spectacular and the QPAC Lyric.
